Support UCF Women’s Rowing and The Courtney Nelson Patterson Memorial Fund
Courtney Nelson Patterson was a dedicated rower for the University of Central Florida from 1994 – 1999, and was best known for her great sense of humor, infectious smile, and positive outlook on life. Courtney was a member of the first NCAA rowing class and was an inspiration to her coaches and teammates through her spirit and athleticism. In 1996, she received the Terry Smythe Sprit Award, and in her senior year she was elected team co-captain and received the Mary Ann Welsh Best Athlete Award. Courtney was passionate about her family and friends, and the University of Central Florida community. In May 2009, Courtney passed away unexpectedly.
As a tribute to Courtney and her passion for rowing, the Courtney Nelson Patterson Memorial Fund has been created. The goal for the fund is to raise $5,000 to name an existing rowing boat in her honor at the May 1, 2010 regatta hosted by UCF at Lake Pickett. In addition, a ceremony and plaque dedication will take place in honor of Courtney. Funds totaling less than $5,000 will be dedicated to the UCF Rowing program in her honor.
Contributions may be made online by clicking here or via check made payable to UCF Athletics Association, P.O. Box 163555, Orlando, FL 32816-3555. Please designate all contributions to the Courtney Nelson Patterson Memorial Fund or Account Number: 437-4400-100.
Thank you for your contribution and support to honor and remember Courtney — a great wife, daughter, sister, friend, colleague and UCF student-athlete alumna.
