Facilities on the Rise

What began with the construction of the new Wayne Densch Sports Center and football practice fields in 2003, and continued with the opening of the new UCF Softball Complex in 2006, has now blossomed into what many call a full-fledged city of its own in the Athletics Village on the north side of campus.

In September 2007, UCF proudly opened the 45,000-seat Bright House Networks Stadium and 10,000-seat UCF Arena. That remarkable ambition would not have been possible without the philanthropic support of the community.

UCF Athletics also oversaw the total renovation of the old UCF Arena into “The Venue,” which houses exclusive modern practice facilities and offices for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, as well as an equally-spacious home facility for volleyball. In April 2008, UCF Athletics opened the UCF Intercollegiate Rowing Center at Lake Pickett which is arguably the top lakefront rowing complex in the southeast. A few weeks later, the UCF Golf Practice Facility opened at Twin Rivers Golf Club in Oviedo.
